🍋 Lemonade Stand Magic! 🍋
Inspired by a group of children role-playing in our lemon-infused water tray, we extended the play by suggesting we make real lemonade together.
The children explored a simple recipe with an adult, identifying the ingredients and talking through each step. The children were very enthusiastic, helping to prepare the lemons and, with close adult supervision, using a hand blender to mix everything together. We explored the fresh, zingy smell of the lemons and came up with lots of descriptive words to match.
Some of the children joined in some fantastic mark making, helping to create a sign for their very own lemonade stand. The children worked as a team to set it up, and the children took great care pouring lemonade into their cups and tasting it alongside their peers.
