Planetarium & Cathedral Visit

Year 3 were extremely lucky to visit the Museum on the Moon exhibition at St Albans Cathedral. When we arrived, we were whisked off to see the moon where we learnt interesting facts. For example, A person would weigh much less on the Moon and the rise and fall of the tides on Earth is caused by the Moon.
After we had our picture taken with the moon, we attended a work shop where we became Aerospace engineers. We designed, constructed and tested out our own rockets. When we tested our rockets, we had to stand clear as we did not know how successful our rockets would be.
When we finished being engineers, we transformed into astronauts. The Planetarium from the University of Hertfordshire’s / Bayford Observatory allowed us to enter in to the world of astronomy with a planetarium show ‘Cosmos in the Classroom’.
Overall, we had an amazing scientific day. We definitely have some future scientists in our class. 🪐☄️🔭🛸
