Art Focus – Painting with scissors

Year 3 explored the idea of ‘painting with scissors’ taking inspiration from artist Romare Bearden. We worked in groups to come up with a theme then we cut shapes directly into paper, using scissors inspired by the artwork.    

Natural History Museum, Volcanoes & Earthquakes

Year 5 had a great trip, on the train, to the Natural History Museum. The children  explored the museum learning about the natural world from dinosaurs to insects, fossils, earths treasures, volcanoes and clocks, before taking part in an interactive Volcano and Earthquake Workshop.

Geography Field Trip

On Thursday Year 3 went on a geography field trip to the Colne River. Year 3 sketched the river and using their geography knowledge were able to label the parts of the river. We then walked around the lake looking at the wildlife. We finished our trip with a picnic lunch at the park.

Lemonade Stand Magic
