Science Week

Spelling

Year 4 have worked really hard in their spelling practise. They have enjoyed creating their own sentences using the spelling words of the week “quarter’, ‘learn’, ‘calendar’, ‘remember’, ‘pressure’ and ‘separate’. Their challenge was to see how many of these words could fit in one sentence to make sense! Fantastic work Year 4.

Attendance Trip

Our Year 4 children won the attendance trip and were lucky to get to go to DJ’s Soft Play for a treat.

Science Museum Trip

Last week, Year 2 and Year 3 had an amazing trip to the Science Museum. I think you can see from the pictures that the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Coming to England

This half term, we’ve been looking a lot at Floella Benjamin’s story ‘Coming to England’ and the struggles she faced and overcame during her youth. Maths

This week in Maths, Year 4 have been learning about place value, in particular comparing numbers using “greater than” and “less than” terminology. We have been exploring this concept through various manipulatives such as, using denes, counters, number cards and dice.

Autumn Term

One of our books we have be looking at in English is ‘The Paper Bag Princess.’ We started looking at the characters and how we can portray them to each other. We thought about our body language and how the characters would sound. We then acted out part of the story in pairs and performed …

In Year Six, we have been learning about place value. We worked as a class to work out how to build Dienes block the size of 1 million!
