Volunteer Readers

🌟 Community Champions: Our Wonderful School Reader Volunteers 🌟

At London Colney Primary and Nursery, we are incredibly proud of the partnerships we build with our wider community – and none more so than with our fantastic School Reader volunteers, who give up their time every week to support our children with reading.
These dedicated individuals are part of the School Readers charity, a wonderful organisation that works closely with schools across the country to improve children’s literacy. Their mission is simple but powerful: to ensure every child can leave primary school able to read well.
Each week, our volunteers come into school and work one-to-one with children, sharing stories, listening to them read, and helping to build confidence, fluency, and a lifelong love of books. Their presence makes a real difference—not only in helping children to improve their reading skills but also in creating warm, positive interactions that children look forward to.
We are so grateful for their commitment, warmth, and the valuable time they offer. They are true Community Champions, and we want to celebrate everything they do for our school.
