Today in Topic, Drew set up our classroom as a bus. We sat on a side depending on if we were a girl or boy. Drew sat one girl in the boys section and one boy in the girls section, we quickly realised how this was unfair and unequal. We then watched a video explaining how Rosa Parks sat on a seat on the bus and it was labelled ‘Whites only’. The bus driver demanded that Rosa Parks gave up her seat for a white person and she was so brave and insisted that she didn’t. We then role played in groups what happened that day on the bus, exploring her bravery.
